Full Administrative Rights for Install

You will need full administrative rights to the machine where you wish to install Flynet DataConnect.

SOFTWARE PRE-REQUISITES

MICROSOFT INTERNET INFORMATION SERVICES WEB SERVER

Microsoft IIS is an application that is built in to Windows. Among other things, it functions as a web server. Flynet DataConnect uses the IIS web server to publish the queries you design as web services.

IIS COMPONENTS

On Windows Vista and Server 2008 upwards, Flynet DataConnect needs specific optional IIS components. The installer makes sure these have been activated.

MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK 4.0 (FULL)

The .NET Framework is Microsoft's programming platform for building applications. Flynet DataConnect has been created using .NET 4.0 and requires that it is installed.

ASP.NET 4.0

DataConnect publishes your queries as web services using the web technology of .NET 4.0, called ASP.NET. The installer makes sure that ASP.NET is available within your IIS web server.

MICROSOFT SQL SERVER COMPACT 3.5 WITH SERVICE PACK 2

The Compact edition of Microsoft SQL Server is installed along with DataConnect. This is a micro-version of Microsoft's database server that is used for storing your queries and web services, as well as providing local example databases.

On 64 bit versions of Windows, both the 32 and 64 bit version of SQL Server Compact are needed. The DataConnect installer will install both.
